Katie Vandaveer is a paralegal at Bautista LeRoy, LLC. She graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2011 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications Studies. Following college, Katie worked for both a local advertising firm and a publishing company, and eventually, she accepted a position with a financial company where she was the Annuity Trainer for the New Business Department. While working in finance, Katie helped lead special projects where she cross-trained other departments and implemented training protocols and tactics
Following working for a financial company, Katie decided to pursue a legal career where she worked intimately on a variety of personal injury, employment, medical malpractice, and wrongful death cases and joined the Bautista LeRoy team in May of 2017.
Katie is as passionate about law and advocating for clients as the attorneys she works for and is very active in the Kansas City legal community. She serves as the Member at Large on the Kansas City Paralegal Association Board of Directors (KCPA), is a member of the Association for Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City (AWL) and also serves as a Sub Chair for their annual Golf Tournament Committee, and she is a member of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association (KCMBA). Additionally, Katie has served on the Young Friends of Art Committee with the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art for the last three years, she volunteers with Jackson County CASA, and she is a member of the Greater Kansas City Women’s Political Caucus to support other strong female leaders in the Kansas City community.
When Katie isn’t working or volunteering, she loves spending time with friends and family, playing with her dog, Aldous and cat, Katniss, and she enjoys yoga, golfing, and writing.
